Problem is, if I try the Window Manager Tweaks (or Settings) it complains it doesn't work with Beryl, and setting panel=0 in the <basedir>/xfce4/transparency file has no apparent result. Any tips?

Thanks

Well I am using Sarge, but some months ago I took xfwm from testing and it had no composite build in, so I recompiled the backport version for Sarge.
By the way, it did not made my computer slower, as always xfce and everything goes faster :-)

http://www.xfce.org/documentation/docs- … ansparency

You can create the file <basedir>/xfce4/transparency if you want to change the transparency value for the panel (or the iconbox). Create the file and add a line with the format panel=<value>, where value is a number between 0 and 100. Setting it to 0 effectively turns transparency off.

For example, a transparency file may look like this:

panel=25
iconbox=0

So how do I set the transparency of the windows then? Should I post this bug BugZilla?
