I downloaded a few files to my desktop.
only one of them appeared graphically.
I went into the desktop settings.
I set icons to none.
then back to file/folders.
when set back to file/folders it reproduced the warning but now shows the all of the files in folder Desktop graphically.
continues to not display files downloaded in the Desktop until I repeat the previous process.

this is 4.4 rc2 installed by the graphical installer on gentoo current x86.

The error message reads: "Unable to connect to the Xfce Trash service. Make sure you have a file manager installed that supports the Xfce Trash service, such as Thunar." Clicking the close button gets rid of the error window and everything appears to be OK. I have Thunar installed. When I right click the Trash icon and click "open" I get the same error window. When I left double click the Trash icon, Thunar opens with the Trash folder open, ready for browsing.

Does anyone know how to eliminate this annoying error message?
