Set the right monitor refresh rates and add the correct resolutions. (Search Google with you monitor model and xorg.conf. This will give you some results I guess).

I have just installed Xubuntu on a G3 imac (tray loading) and the screen resolution is undesirable (it looks 640x480ish).
when i go into settings -> display settings, the only option in the resolutions list is Default.

How would i change the resolution to 800x600 or higher?
