You can try updating hal if you're not running the latest version, if that does not solve the problem, please file a bug report in the Xfce Bugzilla.

I use xfce 4.4.0 and when I copied photos in SD card Thunar send me a message that there is no enough space.
Thunar freezes so I restart it and I can't see the content of my SD card.
So I do ls command and I see strange characters... my sd card is unreadable now !!!

I have recovered data thanks to PhotoRec but I would to know if it's a known bug of thunar?
Why thunar try to insert data until the SD card death if there is no enough space?
