I'm reasonably sure that it's an xfce issue and not a lower-level issue.

I've tried xubuntu and am now using gentoo with xfce. Unfortunately, in this installation's shutdown dialogue, the sleep and hibernate buttons are missing. Do you guys know how I could perhaps set a use flag or something so that these are compiled in?
