Also, as I type this in the composition window, there is a row of smilies from which one can select.

The best place for feature requests is the Xfce Bugzilla, also what do you mean smiles to lineups?

Two other thoughts for improvements:
1. The spell check does not have an option to add a word. Can that be fixed? I would like to see "Xfce" (among others) added to the list.

2. How do we add other smilies to the lineup?
