Call me Eggdog.

OK, now that I got that out of the way: Hi. I'm currently auditioning a variety of Xfce mixes. Xubuntu 11.04 (beta) looks like it will be first-class; and I'm enjoying Foresight 2.5, and even stuck a second copy on a partition on my laptop this afternoon. I'm also looking at an early version of Pardus 2011's Xfce edition.

I've admired Xfce for a while. We have a small but confusing home network here, and the problems previous versions of Xfce had with SMB shares made it impractical for everyday use. Xfce 4.8 has completely solved that, of course.

I like Xfce because (a) it's unpretentious, and (b) it resembles the type of working environment I'm used to. I have to admit, I'm too old and cranky to learn any new paradigms. All I want to do is work on some manuscripts, host my little forum, and complain about the youth of today enjoy this lovely spring weather we're having.
