I've been trying out various desktops with Fedora 15 Beta on my work machine, and have found XFCE the best for my purposes, just regret that I hadn't adopted it before. Right now, I'm seeing how the mouse runs with Mint 10 on my ThinkPad too. Yours, the Sussex Wildcat.
