I have been experimenting with xfce, lxde and mate on wheezy for the last several weeks because I knew gnome 3 would never work for me just from looking at the screenshots and reading forum posts. At first I thought I'd probably go with mate because it is a familiar environment. But now that I've gotten a handle on xfce, I have to say that I'm so over gnome (though I still do use some apps from the mate repos). So when wheezy finally goes stable I'll be bunking with the xfce family for the duration . . . if you'll have me! LOL!!!
