Linux Mint maintains its compatibility with Mate panel applets at https://github.com/linuxmint/xfce4-xfapplet-plugin
So another round-about alternative would be to tweak that GNOME2 panel applet into a Mate applet.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

This xfwm4 theme is intersting indeed. It just a little bit too small! It give me some ideas to do mine. I’ve made that one : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6ZVS6 … 0hnQVJOQkU.

But I’m still interested about an applet that allow you to remove completely the window border and maybe the menubar...
Others peoples have posted a comment on the project page and the author seem to be interseted to port it but maybe don’t have time for now. I’ve also posted a comment.

Maybe close button could be implemented also through an option in the Window Buttons applet...

Since it seems it's such a pain to create customizations for GNOME/Unity (as their creators definitely don't want anyone messing with their 'brand'), you could maybe contact the applet author and see if he could instead create an xfce4-panel plugin.

Hello,

XfApplet that can be used to run GNOME Window Applet in Xfce, however it is no longer maintained and will not work with newer versions of Xfce.
So, I would like to now if it’s hard work to port the GNOME Window Applet to Xfce in order to get the window buttons into the panel and removing the title bar with maximus apps.
I would be interested to be involved in this project but I didn't know how to develop a panel applet....

Someone would be able to inform me the above ?
Or maybe could be interested about this applet ?

Warm thanks,
