Hi Guys,

I've searched the interent for an answer, my disros forum, and this forum. I cant find an answer.

I'm currently using Linux Mint Xfce 64bit, brand new install. I'm on a Toshiba Satelite L750/L755 laptop.

I'm having problems with the computer recognising that the battery is even plugged in on its first boot.

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info

and

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state

Provide nothing. This changes when I plug or unplug the power supply. Thats when suddenly the power manager kicks in. After this the above commands work properly.

The power manager is flakey at best, no settings work as they should; no screen brightness, no suspend settings, not much of anything really.

I've previously had MATE installed and these setting work as they should so was wondering if theres a work around for these issues? The nearest thing I found to my problem is this: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29294

Thanks for the help.
