Hi all.

Probably a question that has been asked many times but I'd like to know if there are plans to add fade effects when switching the desktop background. And for my own curiosity, if that's not in the plan and given that I'm not a n00b in C/C++ programming but a n00b in Linux development, how would such a feature be achieved? Through compositor? Through OpenGL? Does anybody have references or knows where I can find sample snippets for the task? Does any other desktop environment support such a feature? (I'm asking because Xfce's been my long time and only desktop and I've never used any other enough to know or remember.)

Thanks a lot in advance.
