Linux Mint 13 Xfce
USB Mouse
Linux/terminal noob

I think this is the exact same problem: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p … 9&t=103985
"doesn't happen when in use, but only after idling for a few" = screensaver kicks in? That'd mean it's the same.

Title makes it seem he's talking about the exact same problem (inactivity = screensaver?), but the follow-up posts make it sound different: http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=17350
In follow-ups, he says his mouse comes back(?). Mine does not. But the last post says the "problem" does not go away after a cold reboot. What "problem" he means I do not know, as it seems the cause of his complaint was identified (unclutter)... so I don't know what he means. My mouse cursor returns after a reboot (not just logging out/in - similar to the next report).

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/157502
This describes my exact experience. Cursor is invisible, but can still click things, and hovering the invisible mouse cursor changes the buttons/etc to what they look like when hovering over them normally.

--------------------------------------

I just found a fix (bring the cursor back, not prevent this from even happening) but I've yet to have the opportunity to try it (http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?/top … een-saver/). I have doubts it'll work since the TC says his cursor comes back after logging out/in, but it's worth a shot.

If there's a fix that prevents this from even happening, that'd be perfect. I'm doubtful of that, so how do I re-start/re-load whatever controls the mouse? I figure when the screensaver kicks on, the mouse gets turned off in a sense and when you de-idle, the mouse re-loads... but the bug happening here is, in some way, the mouse does not re-load properly. Therefore, re-loading the mouse [again] = cursor comes back?
