I have two instances of the Network Manager Applet (icon like a bar graph) on the panel, both showing exactly the same thing.

I don't know when that started; it wasn't always like that.

How can I get rid of one of them?

Settings -> Panel -> Items -> Notification Area -> Edit
shows only one instance of the Applet, and if I select Hidden they both disappear.
