Settings for Last View

How does one make things like the start menu and thunar open to the last view?

What are you calling the "start menu"? The Whisker Menu, Applications Menu, Application Finder, other?

and thunar open to the last view?

Edit > Preferences > Display tab > "View new folders using" setting.

Thanks, ToZ.  I believe I meant the Whisker Menu.  And, no, thunar will not save and display the last view that way.

Re: Settings for Last View

Perhaps you can describe what you mean by save and display the last view? When I have that selected in Thunar, and close it and re-open it, that same view is displayed. For example, I change the view to "Detailed List", close and re-open Thunar, it is displayed as a detailed list.

As for Whisker Menu, if you mean having it open to the last category viewed, as opposed to "Favorites", it doesn't seem to be an option. You can create an enhancement request for it. The Application Finder does have the option to "Remember last category selected" though.

Re: Settings for Last View

I see.  Seems an obvious need, especially as there is a Favorites and Recently Used buttons.

Anyway, in thunar I guess I should have been more specific and stated "last directory".

Re: Settings for Last View

It doesn't look like thunar tracks the last directory either.
