[Solved]Thunderbird not hidden in tray upon closing; FireTray inactive

FireTray (0.4.8.1) is installed as an add-on to my Thunderbird (52.1.0) installation and - so far - has correctly kept Thunderbird running as hidden to tray upon closing or minimizing the Thunderbird window (with the Thunderbird icon visible in xfce4's Notification area of panel 1) .

Since a recent system update (last month), however, FireTray appears to have lost its functionality, as Thunderbird can no longer be run as hidden to tray upon closing or minimizing the Thunderbird window. Has anyone experienced the same behavior, and, if so, found a way to reestablish the default behavior (i.e., FireTray icon maintained upon closing or minimizing of Thunderbird window)?

Am using Xfce4 4.12.

Firetray has been discontnued and the latest version released was 0.6.1. I just installed it on my Xubuntu 17.04 system and it worked. Perhaps you can try updating it to the latest version?

Also, which distro are you using?

Apparently, I had always updated FireTray without taking note of the associated software (Thunderbird or Firefox). There are FireTray add-ons for both of them. Upon explicitly updating FireTray for Thunderbird to version 0.6.1, running Thunderbird as hidden to tray works as expected.
