[suggestion] Window buttons and mouse click behaviors

Hello, i am new to xfce forum, although i am a happy user since 2013.

I couldn't find any other way to contribute my idea but here.

I have Arch Linux (Antergos) and Xfce 4.12 ( xfce4-panel 4.12.1 )

Right now the Window buttons are used to be:

  • "left click" for open a window if closed or show at top if already open

  • "middle click" is used to minimize the window if already open or do nothing if already closed

I would like to suggest this behavior of mouse clicks:

LEFT CLICK

  • If window already open and on top -> Minimize window

  • If window already open and not on top   -> Show on top

  • If window is minimized -> Show window

MIDDLE CLICK

  • Open a new instance (new window)

Thank you smile

Thanks for pointing me the bugzilla website. I did make a request.

It's here: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13836

Thanks a lot!

Re: [suggestion] Window buttons and mouse click behaviors

I'm surprised that more of the people who use Xfce (as in, all of them) are not aware of Xfce's Bugzilla web page. Not so much because it's the designated area for requesting new features - although awareness of that is useful - but because it's also the designated venue for reporting bugs. That, IMHO, ought to be presented to every Xfce user on first run or something.

BtW, AfaIK, the Xfce development team is focused on migration from Gtk2 to Gtk3 at present, so there may not be enough free "development hours" to address your request right away. Still and all, one never knows.

MDM
