how to set xfce4-terminal size

I always have to resize xfce4-terminal when I open it... is there any way to set a fixed size so the terminal will always load at a pre-fixed size?

thanx

Re: how to set xfce4-terminal size

You could try wmctrl, it does much more than that but it would just resize it for you.

Re: how to set xfce4-terminal size

If you use the terminal from Xfce 4.4 (called Terminal ^-^), you can set the size by command line (Terminal --help).

Re: how to set xfce4-terminal size

yes, it worked fine with xfce4-terminal --geometry parameter... thanx ;D

i'm using a program called 'devilspie' to hide the terminal from task bar, from alt + tab and to keep it always on bottom... but It's being dificult since devilspie has no documentation

Re: how to set xfce4-terminal size

The post might be old, but this can also be configured in;

~/.config/Terminal/terminalrc

Under the value 'MiscDefaultGeometry'.

Re: how to set xfce4-terminal size

Open termnal
Edit > Preferences > Appearance and look near the bottom and you will see

Default geometry.   I have mine set to 132 and 41
