Firefox/Thunderbird menu highlights not visible

Hi,

Just installed XFCE (4.4.1 Centos 5 x86_64) and love its simplicity and speed - nice work.
Just one problem that I can see so far, when I load up firefox or thunderbird and roll the mouse
over the menu items (File, Edit, View etc) the text is obscured by the menuitem highlight. I can
sort of see the text underneath the highlight, but it's white against a white background so it's not
too clear ;D

I guess this is something to do with the XFCE window manager theme and the default colour firefox
wants to use for the menu font??

Any suggestions?

Cheers, Jon

Re: Firefox/Thunderbird menu highlights not visible

My firefox 2.0.0.5 is doing just the opposite; I get no highlighting at all, just my cursor over the text with no feedback.
Perhaps trying a different skin/widget set might help? I'm using the default borders with clearlooks. Might be worth a shot.

edit:
I just noticed that I get no highlighting of any sort in any application's menu items, not just ff.

Re: Firefox/Thunderbird menu highlights not visible

Hi Export884,

Running FF 2.0.0.6 - I'm not sure how to change the widget set. How do I do that?

I can't help feeling that there must be a HUGE number of people having this problem??????
If not, then there must be something wacky going on with our machines.

Best wishes,

Jon.

I think this is a problem with your Gtk theme.

Hmm,

I don't think I've changed anything to do with the theme, but I will have  play with it tomorrow.

Thanks,

Jon.
