Re: Screenshots - 2008

First serious update I've done to my system's style in probably a year.

scrnsml1fx5.jpg

Thinking I might mod my window manager theme so the active window border is the same dark shade as my menus/panel.

Sure, I've been meaning to upload it since I did it in October last year
xfce-look

I've got a port of Clearloks-Gummy that I've been meaning to upload as well. I've just got to find it, I've got a new hard drive since I last used it and will have to dig it out from my backups.

Re: Screenshots - 2008

This is my main desktop workstation, rather busy.
20080907a.png

Distribution: Gentoo Linux on AMD64
Applications: Thunar, irssi (in Terminal), Decibel Audio Player. Xfapplet is in the panel, running sensors-applet and fast-user-switch.
Font: Verdana 12, 96 DPI
Icons: Tango
gtk+ theme: Rezlooks-Gil-Ouch
Xfwm4 theme: Axe
Background: Colibri/Blossom Spring, from fulldesktop.com. The Mac version places everything on the left side.

Here's the desktop again, this time uncluttered. Pretty, pretty background!

Have not yet configured ncmpc yet so its a bit bland. Screen has got a cool bar at the bottom which shows you all the open applications.

hey, what music player are you using in that screenshot and how did you get the window boarders to not show?

Re: Screenshots - 2008

As the original poster already said, the music player is ncmpc. There's a newer spinoff available called ncmpcpp written in C++ that adds features.

The windows are done by Emerald; the OP is using compiz-fusion rather than xfwm4 to manage windows.

Re: Screenshots - 2008

Mine never stays the same for more than a day. Sometimes the background changes twice a day.

And conky is in a constant state of not done, needs tweaking, changing, take your pick.

Re: Screenshots - 2008

I have to say... I love the simplicity and flexibility of XFCE! Currently, this is my desktop:

Nothing shiny, but extremely fast and usable.
