xfce3 style desktop icons for running tasks on xfce4.8?

Does xfce4.8 support the old style desktop icons and multiple desktops like CDE/xfce3.  That is, when I minimize an edit session or a terminal it becomes an icon on my desktop (and remembers where it was placed last).

Yes, desktop settings > Icons > Icon Type > Minimized application icons.

Re: xfce3 style desktop icons for running tasks on xfce4.8?

Thanks.  I'll fight the battle with IT to get it installed.

I work totally from the command line, with 10 desktops having 30 or more multi tabbed terminals and nedit (nc) sessions open (I work through VNC, I never reboot, and xfce3 has been very reliable).  The only toolbar icon I use is the terminal.  In your opinion, what new features (since xfce3) would you guess I might find compelling?

I never used Xfce 3, so I can't tell, but I guess it will be a lot different in _a lot_ or areas.
