Xfce4 Desktop configuratons Corrupting
Configurations
Debian 6 Squeeze kernel 2.6.32-5 686 Xfce 4.6.2 ..KDM (no issues so far here) this also has KDE, Lxde and OpenBox
Debian Wheezy kernel 3.1.0-1 686 Xfce 4.8.0.3 Xfce4 GUI login (has corrupted) This is an Xfce4 only install
CrunchBang 10 Kernel 2.6.39-bpo.2 Xfce 4.6.2 Slim (has corrupted twice) this install has also Lxde and OpenBox
My current Linux Installs are occasionally seeing the Xfce4 desktop corrupting..
When I logged in My Panels were Corrupted with items missing..
..Start up of applications were v-e-r-y Slow.
..Apps upon opening covered Panels
..All Apps opened in the Upper Left hand corner ..One on top of another.
..All Apps were UnMoveable on the Desktop..
..Logout and Shutdowns did not work correctly
..One of the 1st symptoms is a missing Mouse cursor on the Xfce4 Graphical logon with Xfce4 4.8
In each case to correct the situation I deleted or Renamed these folders
~/.cache/sessions/
~/.config/xfce4/
Which then are regenerated and that does the trick..
Unfortunately, there is still some Desktop House keeping for me to do in regard to recustomizing my panels and Desktops.
So, this is not a problem that I want to see happen for me over and over....
Any other solutions or methods I can use to prevent this problem from reoccurring..

This is because xfwm4 is not running. Run (in terminal or Alt-F2) : xfwm4
Save the session when xfwm4 run normally to be sure that it will run when you log back

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

Ahhh the window manager... THanks for that..
I will remember the daemon in the future.
Xfce is a DE that I have run many times but not steadily nor have I invested in it until recently.
I am finding myself running Xfce now on a regular basis and am getting acclimated to it.
I find Xfce not as graphically adjustable as KDE/Gnome but really a Nice looking DE with more speed and plenty of capability... Great Stuff!!
I am now working in it Daily.
