Failed to execute login command (xfce 4.8.0.3 Debian 3.2.0-2-amd64)

I am running Debian Squeeze 3.2.0-2-amd64, Xfce 4.8.0.3  on my asus U36J laptop.

Everything was fine but since yesterday I can't login to xfce. Every time I try to login as user or as root I have message "Failed to execute login command".

In forums I've found some advices, following them I have created a file /home/andrey/.xinitrc and wrote there exec xfce4-session. It did not helped. I've tried to edit /etc/inittab but found out that I am not sure how to edit it. What else can I do to solve this problem?

You can't login on the console? You start Xfce with startx?
If you can't login to the console then it's a problem that precedes Xfce and you might have more help at forums.debian.net
