Able to install : however Xfce 4.4.1 will not start

Okay, I wrote this : http://www.mepisguides.com/Mepis-6/desk … fce-1.html

Which works on Xfce 4.4.0.  However, when attempting to install Xfce 4.4.1 on top of the older version using the same steps, Xfce would no longer start. Figured it was a conflict. Re-installed OS, checked dependencies again in the Graphical Installer to make sure that none were missing. Installed Xfce 4.4.1 again, and again, when attempting to start Xfce 4.4.1, it fails.

Went back and put Xfce 4.4.0 on an Intel Pentium4 530 system, mobile 6800 GPU, Nvidia-GLX enabled.

Entered Run Level 3, started script and this is the output, including the manual log-out from inside of Xfce.

As best as I can figure

A: the installer is failing and not informing of the failure
B: There is a missing development dependancy.

I've also tried the Xfce 4.4.1 installer on a couple of different computers ( systems listed here : http://zerias.blogspot.com/2007/04/auct … mepis.html ) and had to go back to Xfce 4.4.0 because 4.4.1 would not start.

Any ideas on what is broken?

Re: Able to install : however Xfce 4.4.1 will not start

Well the commands are not found, so make sure the prefix you've used for the installation is in the PATH.

PS. Showing the Xfce dependencies in KWrite
