system sounds?

There is a 'System Sounds' link in xfce-look.org, but is there any way to really configure system sounds in xfce?

Re: system sounds?

Nope Xfce has no system sound and it's not planned to add this in a feature version of Xfce.

Re: system sounds?

Do you know why not?

Hey, I was trying to add some sound to GDM, but it's not playing. Even in the configuration window, when I click "Test", there's no sound. But it's strange because I have everything related to ALSA and my system plays sounds perfectly... do you know why it's happening?

obs: hey man, thanx for all the help since now smile

Re: system sounds?

Ever heard chord.wav from Window? That's why! lol

Sounds are childish IMHO and they don't fit in the Xfce philosophy. Rather start the desktop very faster then fill up your time with some sound because you have to wait anyway.

For the GDM problem, dunu from which user the daemon is running, but make sure it is in the sound group. Beter ask this on your distro's forum.
