How can I change the language?

Hi,

I've got a simple but yet unresolved problem with XFE4.4 (on FreeBSD). I don't know how to change the language (to german).
I've searched the wiki, the mailing lists and this forum but could not find anything appropriate. I've changed the keyboard layout using the "XkbLayout" option in xorg.conf, localized some appz (like firefox) but I can't figure out how to change the language for XFCE itself. Can somebody give me a hint please? THX

Re: How can I change the language?

Try to type in terminal setxkbmap de
If you want to specify keymap use command: setxkpmap -layout de desiredkeymap.
The desiredkeymap must be changed to the keymap you need, cp105 for example.
Another way to do it is to install xfce4-xkb-plugin.

Re: How can I change the language?

Look in the Applications menu under System --> Language* (something, it says "Sprachunterstützung" in my Menu ;-) )

I had to install some more language Tools for it to work. It prompted me to do that, so that was easy.

Re: How can I change the language?

Ok, i posted on other Forums my problem, but i will try also here:
I have Acer Aspire One 110L with linux linpus. There are 20-30 languages to select for Keyboard Layout. But i need one that is not there (croatioan/serbian). Does it mean that this language doesntéxist or i have to install it/dowmload it? I am Novice in a Linux so if anybody can help i would appreciate it.
Thanks
