Deleting desktop icons for "file system" and "home"

Is there a way to do this? I am not using thunar as my file manager and there is no way to alter the properties of those two icons, to point them to the file manager I'm using. I would like to remove them completely from my desktop.

Is there a configuration file somewhere that I can edit to get rid of them?

Re: Deleting desktop icons for "file system" and "home"

May be ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/xfdesktoprc ?

[file-icons]
show-filesystem=false
show-home=false
show-trash=true
show-removable=true

Re: Deleting desktop icons for "file system" and "home"

You could just disable the xfce desktop manager.

Go into options and remove the tick where it says "allow xfce to manage the desktop"

I did that and installed the Rox-filer which I like much better than Thunar, (it's so much faster, at least on FreeBSD it is)

Also by doing that now Rox-filer manages the desktop (it creates the desktop icons and the panel)

Which solved the problem of the unstable panels when Xfce was running the desktop.
