Design needed?

I'm a graphic designer and web developer.  I realize that the mission of XFCE is to provide a light-weight user-experience, but I find that all themes are unattractive.  If I wanted to contribute to the artwork side of this project, where could/should I start?

If you dig a bit deeper after the contact information, there is a section on artwork.

Best to join the goodies mailing list and work on xfce-look.org. If you have a nice theme and its not based on a non-xfce theme engine, we can include it in the xfce gtk engine or a new theme in xfwm4; but the best place to discuss that is on goodies-dev ml.
