Brainstorming
I am considering forking lxdm and perhaps writing Xfce's own display manager. I wanted to know how Xfce's general community feels about this, and any concerns that you guys may have.

There are so many display manager out there; lxdm (which has no dependencies you can drop with your fork), lightdm, gdm, slim. What do you want to change to be different from the others?

I didn't want to drop dependencies or anything like that, rather add features and clean it up for use with Xfce a little bit more. If it sounds like a bad idea I won't go any further, like the post said it was just brainstorming. I also looked at the possibility of modifying slim, however I had A LOT of issues with it on my netbook and quickly reinstalled lxdm and began tinkering there.

I'd say make a theme for lxde that fits Xfce. I've never looked at the lxde code, but it seems to work for most people, but there are no themes for it.
