First off, I love Xfce it is great and I first tried it a couple of years ago. Since Un*ty, which perhaps wrongly I haven't even tried, Xubuntu has become the weapon of choice of many people I know.
I have read the wiki and see what it says regarding pronunciation of the name, however I disagree completely! Since first discovering Xfce I have always refered to it as "suffice" of "zuffice" which I think not only almost pronounces the letters it also describes the purpose/ethos quite well.
I don't care what the wiki says, and I know it is you guys that make it, but I will always call it that, and would like to suggest it be considered as the official pronunciation or at least an alternative.
I did a quick search of the forums for "pronounc" and drew a blank but apologies if this has been suggested before.
Cheers,
Stramash

It's funny you should post regarding this, as I have been an xfce user for quite a few years now and pronounce it as it's described on the wiki.
When I first came upon it initially the first thing that came to mind was;
and that was how I pronounced it to begin with. It makes no sense at all, it's just how it registered initially in my brain.

Up until now I pronounced it the way Wiki says. Like your way a lot better! Suffice is perfect. ![]()

If I'm being formal, I'll pronounce it the way the wiki says. If not, I find that EX-fiss works for me.

"Shy face"
Just kidding -- I've always pronounced the individual letters, just like the Xfce documentation says.
