Xfce won't start

I'm running Xfce4.8 on a Debian Sid installation, Asus eee-pc 900.  I just did an update of Sid, and now Xfce won't start.  I'm using gdm3 for a display manager, and it comes up and lets me select the window manager like always.  If I select other window managers, such as Gnome, all works fine.  But with Xfce, I get the splash screen, then a blank screen with the 'wait' cursor, and it goes back to the gdm3 login, repeatedly.  Some error dialog shows, but it's gone too fast to read it.  My ~/.config/xfce4-session directory is empty, as I haven't been saving sessions.  Any suggestions?

Re: Xfce won't start

Try running startxfce4 instead of gdm3 to see how it behaves.

Re: Xfce won't start

Well, it started working on its own.  No idea what the problem, nor the fix, was.

Re: Xfce won't start

Started cycling repeatedly again.  It has to be a problem in the cache or something, but I haven't solved it this time.  Back on Gnome for the time being, at least it runs.

Re: Xfce won't start

You can see the exact error by looking at ~/.xsession-errors
If you login in another environment after you had unsuccessfully tried Xfce, you can still see the errors in ~/.xsession-errors.old
