Font rendering in Chrome

Hello,

XFCE 4.8 in xubuntu 12.04

Font display is fine in Firefox but not in Google Chrome (Version 21.0.1180.81).

Although my panel settings enable anti-aliasing with slight hinting, it does not seem to apply to Chrome.

I've tried to follow ~/.fonts.conf tricks found on the web, to no avail.

Can you help ?

Re: Font rendering in Chrome

Update: in another user profile on the same machine, fonts are not ugly in Google Chrome.

Update -- for future reference, for noobs such as I smile --

Fonts were blurry in one user profile but not the other, in Qt applications not just Chrome
(is Chrome Qt based ?).

I found this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2032512

In my case, it was enough to remove
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml.

I  don't understand the real reason for the problem though.
