Window manager constantly showing busy cursor

I've recently installed Xfce and after a few days getting to know it and tweak it to my taste, I've run into a problem.
The cursor is constantly showing a "busy" icon whenever the mouse pointer is outside an application's screen area.
For example when I open firefox, interacting with it is fine - mouse pointer cursor's are working correctly.
As soon as the mouse pointer reaches the window title bar or the area outside of the application window - the bust cursor appears.

I'm using Arch 64 bit, with Xfce 4.10 from their repositories.
I'm using kdm as my desktop manager, KDE 4.9.2.

uname -a
3.6.4-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Oct 29 09:49:00 CET 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux

There was a big update today which included (amongst others):

gtk3 (3.4.4-1 -> 3.6.1-1)
gconf (3.2.5-2 -> 3.2.5-3)
gtk-engine-unico (1.0.2-1 -> 1.0.2-3)
upgraded linux (3.6.3-1 -> 3.6.4-1)
linux-headers (3.6.3-1 -> 3.6.4-1)
xorg-xinit (1.3.2-1 -> 1.3.2-3)
xfce4-session (4.10.0-3 -> 4.10.0-6)

Immediately (even during the update) there are a lot of warnings  from GConf. I'm not sure if they're relevant.

[2012-11-01 10:27] (gconftool-2:6535): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the D-BUS daemon:
[2012-11-01 10:27] /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally with the following error: No protocol specified
[2012-11-01 10:27] Autolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or some misconfiguration or something else.
Any ideas how I can track down and fix the problem?

Re: Window manager constantly showing busy cursor

A workaround for the busy cursor not to show up which won't solve whatever is causing it is to change
StartupNotify=true
for
StartupNotify=false
in firefox's desktop file.

You might be having some theme issues.

Re: Window manager constantly showing busy cursor

You might be right about StartupNotify. I'll give that a try and see what the effect is.
Thanks for the suggestion
