Removable media showing up twice and why is there a floppy disk?

0) Settings | Desktop | Icons - Default Icons - Removable devices (OFF)
1) Insert USB stick
2) Settings | Desktop | Icons - Default Icons - Removable devices (ON)
This is the result
3) Settings | Desktop | Icons - Default Icons - Removable devices (OFF)
One USB icon and one floppy Icon are still there.
4) Right click USB icon - eject media. Physically remove USB stick.
5) Settings | Desktop | Icons - Default Icons - Removable devices (ON)
Now 2 floppies and the USB stick. I can open the USB stick from the icon on the desktop
6) Settings | Desktop | Icons - Default Icons - Removable devices (OFF)
Still a floppy and the USB stick

Even after re-starting the window manager, they're still there.

Questions:
Why is there an icon for a floppy disk as removable media? I don't even have a floppy drive attached to my computer.
Why is my USB drive shown twice and why is the floppy shown twice?
Why won't they disappear when my Desktop setting say don't show removable media?

Xfce is NOT Xubuntu. Bugs in Xubuntu don't mean that Xfce is buggy ...

The floppy thing maybe is something in /etc/fstab?

That looks very likely. Thanks for the link.

No, my fstab is very basic:

cat /etc/fstab

#
# /etc/fstab: static file system information
#
# <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

/dev/sda5 / ext3 defaults,user_xattr 0 1
/dev/sda6 swap swap defaults 0 0

/dev/sda1 /media/win ntfs-3g defaults 0 0
/dev/disk/by-label/terrabak /media/terrabak ext4 defaults,noatime 0 4

Re: Removable media showing up twice and why is there a floppy disk?

So the bug linked by angstrom WAS the reason for the duplication.
http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=7561
That's been fixed.

So now why is there an icon for a floppy disk when I don't even have a floppy drive attached to my computer?

Re: Removable media showing up twice and why is there a floppy disk?

That looks like an issue from some underlying component and xfdesktop is just displaying it. So you might have better luck in Arch's forum.
