Xfce4 dual monitor shadow problem

Hi.

Laptop: Dell D430, 2 Gig RAM, Intel GMA 950, Xubuntu 1204.

I installed Xubuntu recently and I'd like to use two monitors. Stock Xfce 4.08 (? stock Xubuntu 12.04) and Xrandr gives the following:

amcuryq.png

The shadows appear to be over the windows.
This happenes with 4.10 and 4.12 too.
The output is fine with one monitor and with cloned monitor.

Can you tell me how to get the shadows correctely?

Re: Xfce4 dual monitor shadow problem

I have the same problem on a latitude D420, with VGA external monitor.. when one monitor no problem.. strange is that if I run firefox in full screen mode, then there is no shadow, but in normal mode, the whole window is behind a shadow, most windows are behind shadows, but some apear clear as normal.. very strange

Re: Xfce4 dual monitor shadow problem

I found a solution to my problem here http://kenneho.net/2011/06/30/setting-u … tsu-p7120/

it basically says

I was having the same problem with dimed windows. The solution I've found was go to
Menu -> Settings -> Settings Manager click on Window manager tweaks -> Compositor

Now disable "Enable display compositiong" and dimed problem is fixed smile

Thanks to Pedro Rainho

cheers
