Go to Menu > Settings > Appearance > Settings and uncheck the option called "Display little box in top left corner of the screen."
All kidding aside, could you give us a few more clues about what you're seeing? Is it a window? How big is it? Does it have borders? Does it have a title bar? Is it always there? Can you resize it? Does it re-appear after you shut-down and restart your computer? Can you show it to us in a screenshot?

The box you are seeing is a common bug that relates to Java/Jdownlader, you can check that by closing Jdownlader an seeing hot th glitch dissapears.

Are you two referring to a box that appears on the desktop, or a box that appears in your browser? I don't see either one.
For my browser, I use Firefox in Debian Squeeze Xfce.

I'm sorry -- I just now figured out that AdBlock Plus was blocking the screenshot in your first post, and there weren't any clues in your wording to tell me that you were referring to a browser or that you had included a screenshot -- that's why my first post asked you so many questions.
I don't see that box in Firefox at all, no matter whether I have menus enabled or disabled. Here's what I see:
(EDIT: I came back and deleted my two screenshots, since they were irrelevant to the original question).
Of course ALL of THIS Firefox information is useless to your original question, now that I know that you're NOT talking about Firefox, and now that I know that you DID post a screenshot.

I get it now, the problem is with JDownloader. Thanks everyone for your help. I will post it here if I manage to solve it.
