[Solved] Cannot set panel to maximum width of screen

I have just upgraded to xfce 4.10 (slackware 14.0)

It seems I can no longer set the panel width to the full width of the monitor, 100% is apparently meaningless.

It is entirely too distracting to have the panel width constantly changing, and quickly becomes a non-trivial impedement.

Put a separator before the items you want on the right end of the panel and set it to expand. You can also set it to transparent so it isn't visible.

Re: [Solved] Cannot set panel to maximum width of screen

Your suggestion might be a work-around if it were just a few pixels, but then it wouldn't be a problem either.

Even though space seems to have been reserved and has been painted to match the panel colour, the panel itself is short by at least 60% or more of the screen width. Everything expected in the lower right corner (workspaces, clock, logout) is shifted to the lower left or centre depending on the number of running programs.

Did you mark the expand box of the separator? I put it after the Window Buttons and it moved the notification area, clock etc. to the far right.

Re: [Solved] Cannot set panel to maximum width of screen

Thanks, adding a separator and expanding it did the trick.

The old method of setting this behaviour was clear and easy to access.
Why this change should ever have seemed like a good idea is baffling.
