[Solved] how to set "focus strictly follows mouse"?

Something I cannot find and that I'm so used to that it leads to a lot of strong words.

I want to set my desktop so that the focus is always on the window that is under the mouse. This without clicking or raising the window. So even if the window is half concealed I can just type away once the mouse is over that window.

(I thought someone else might answer sooner, but...)

Settings/Window Manager/Focus/Focus model = Focus follows mouse

This sounds really good except I don't have the window manager application. There is an item on the menu, but nothing comes up.

You don't say what distro you are using but the application for WM settings is xfwm4-settings but should be part of the window manager package xfwm4. As you sure the xfwm4 is running?

Thanks very much. I was not running xfwm4. After running xfwm4 --replace, I have the window manager settings.
