Hello - PCLinuxOS user here

Some years ago, I used the XFCE desktop with PCLinuxOS and found that, though there was much to like about it, it looked horrible! I wasn't too impressed with the PCLOS "Phoenix" respin either. More recently, another PCLOS user/developer, Ika, made another XFCE respin. He was more open to criticism than the Phoenix guy, took it on board, and a more recent effort, issued on 31 August has really hit the spot.

I have used the 64-bit base install, to build up my own system on my own PC, and I have used the 32-bit base to build up something that I can quickly install on friend's computers.

I have used screenshots from my XFCE desktop to illustrate an article I blogged, to show how simple Linux can be to use: http://davespagnol.wordpress.com/2014/0 … -software/

As for me, I'm aged 60, retired, and developing a new career as a bloody nuisance. I also play bass guitar in a group http://collibosher.com and like to spread peace and love — and good free software!

Interesting line of work - how's the pay?  lol  Kidding aside: I like the setup you have for doing installations - how is that going?  How do your friends like Linux regardless of the distro or interface?  I ask because I'm retired, 66, and thinking of doing something similar.  Good luck to you.  wink
