OpenGL compositing ?

From what I read, XFCE compositing is based on xrender and the "Synchronize drawing to the vertical blank" option it's not good enough to prevent tearing. I am using Compton instead with OpenGL vsync and it's working very good on open-source AMD and Intel drivers. I was wondering if OpenGL vsync could be implemented in XFCE, like KDE does. Lots of people don't use XFCE because of tearing issue. Hope I posted in the right place. Thanks !

Re: OpenGL compositing ?

Thank you for the link. I don't think I have any of that, but I imagine it would be highly annoying.

I just use the standard XFCE window manager / compositor (AfaIK) on an Intel I5 laptop with Intel graphics.

MDM

There is this existing request. Perhaps you could add some comments there to give the request a bump.

This report may also be of interest.
