desktop icon ".. GB Unrecognized" - But there is all recognized?

Since installation of xfce debian wheezy with LVM

there is on the desktop (and even in thunar) an icon "... GB Unrecognized".

Clicking on there appears a question for the password. (But none of my passwords works).
Looking at the partition and drive everything looks good.

How can I get rid of that item?

Re: desktop icon ".. GB Unrecognized" - But there is all recognized?

At a guess - and this is strictly a guess - it's some kind of partition/drive/device that, for whatever reason, Xfce cannot mount because it doesn't recognize the file system. You might be able to check that by running a partition manager / disk type application and looking for anything that doesn't check out as having a recognized file system.

I suppose it could also be a remote version of same, if your computer is networked to another device.

That's it for my guesses, lol. BtW, if you have Xfce's Screenshooter installed, you can use your Prt Scrn key to take a screenshot of your desktop, post it to ZimageZ, and then insert the image in a post here so that we can see the icon. IDK how much that would aid in troubleshooting, but perhaps someone would recognize it.

MDM

Re: desktop icon ".. GB Unrecognized" - But there is all recognized?

On this testsystem is nothing networked.

.........................................................................
The item comes from "udisks", The udisks Project.
Action: org.freedesktop.udisks.fiesystem-mout-system-internal
.........................................................................

And I supposed  that the very small test harddisk is recognized as external drive, even if it is recognized already as hard drive.
I tested around and deinstalled udisks (apt-get purge udisks).
The problem and item seemed now to be gone.

But even after reinstalling of "udisks" or "gnome-disk-utility"  there are still no more usb-sticks recogized of xfce. The debian system recognizes an usb-sticks (documented fine in the syslogs) but it is still not visible.

-----

And the problem became bigger :]
By the way, can anyone tell me how to reinstall/configure udisks or the recognition of external drives correct.

Configuring udisks isn't really an Xfce issue.  You might consider asking at a Debian forum to see if they can help you.

Yeno, don' know. Definitely this has more to do with installation.

The debian system reports for example a new usb-stick in the syslog. So it works, but it is not visible in the desktop or  filemanager...
