System-shortcuts: setup button-up-event

Hello,

concrete question:
I'm searching for a way to setup button-up-events instead of button-down events for system shortcuts. Is there any way of doing that?

Problem:
I'm using the Super button for opening the whiskers menu. And I'm using Super+E for openning a new file manager.
When I now want to open a file manager through Super+E, the whiskers menu will also open.

Past:
I've seen various threads about that same topic in the past (from 2013 or so), which all remain unanswered. So might it be not possible?

regards

Re: System-shortcuts: setup button-up-event

There is a long-standing bug report about this particular issue. If you are so inclined, there is a patch included at the end of that bug report that you can apply and manually build the package. This patch apparently switches the behaviour to what you are looking for. The patch (or any fix) has not yet been applied to the code base.
