power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

Hello friends, I have problem in battery indicator on XFCE

My battery gauge icon is stopped, it does not show the correct percentage. The indicator only updates when I turn on the notebook and when I unplug. But when I turn on the notebook if you have 80% for example, this will stay the same loading and unloading.

I updated the version of XFCE, and the problem persists.
I uninstalled the battery icon of the plugin and installed again. But the problem persists.

I do not know what to do.

My system is Xubuntu 14.04
My XFCE is 4.12

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

Do the results of:

upower -d

...match up with what the battery plugin is saying, or does it show different information? (i.e. does 'upower -d' also show the incorrect information?)

What is the make and model of your laptop?

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

Hello Friend,

This my problem occurred because, like it when watching movies on the browser, but does not activates the screen saver. for this, I found in a forum, and found this code for use in the terminal: xset s off-dpms

When use this screen lock code actually works. But when restarting the machine for example, the battery indicator does not show the real load (with or without using the above code).

My battery indicator now 63%: battery-jpg

Using upower -d:

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

Well there does seem to be some sort of discrepancy there.

Can you confirm what you are using for your battery indicator? Right-click the panel that has the battery icon and select Panel>Panel Preferences. Go to the Items tab and look at the list of plugins. Are you using the old battery plugin or the new Power Manager Plugin?

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

I'm using the plugin that comes native Ubuntu 14.04, which is the XFCE 4.10.

There in the post above I have upgraded the XFCE for 4.12 but still did not work, did it with downgrade to the official version which came on Xubuntu to resolve the issue. But not resolved.

I use the plugin is old.

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

The plugin that you are showing above is not an Xfce plugin - it looks like an Ubuntu-specific power indicator. If you are using 4.12, add the "Power Manager Plugin" to the panel and see if it generates the correct information.

In 4.10, I believe that if the xfce4-power-manager process was running, there was a tray icon added to the panel. What does the following return:

ps -ef | grep -i power-manager

Also, run:

xfce4-power-manager-settings

...and go to the Devices tab and click on your battery. Does the information there match up with what "upower -d" is reporting?

Re: power manager icon not show update of charge percentage

I had this issue and someone told me let battery run out completely then restart. It worked for me.
