How to view content of windows during switching tasks?

When I'm switching tasks by Alt-Tab I'm able to see titles of each window. But I wonder how can I watch content of windows during cycling. So if windows 1 is currently selected, then I see its content. If I press Tab again (while keeping Alt pressed from the very beginning), then I will see content of second window. And so on.

You can view thumbnail previews of windows by unchecking Settings Manager > Windows Manager Tweaks > Cycling tab > "Cycle through windows in a list". It will show previews of all currently open windows.

It doesn't work, I just see icons of applications. I use Debian Unstable, by the way.

To confirm, what version of xfwm4 are you using?

Also, you need to have the compositor enabled.

Problem solved. I discovered that after enabling display compositing I'm able to see thumbnails of windows.
