Re: expand corner...

Patience...

You can use devilspie to force applications to open fullscreen. Here is a set of instructions you can follow. Instead of creating a "terminal.ds" file as in that webpage, create a "firefox.ds" file with the following (very similar) content:

(if
    (is (application_name) "Firefox")
    (begin
       (maximize)
    )
)

Re: expand corner...

In that case, can you clarify? There is "maximized," there is "fullscreen mode," and there is adjusting one's desktop panels so that they do not use a portion of one's screen real estate.

I noticed that Firefox recently started opening in a non-maximized window, when before it always opened in a maximized one (on my system). IDK if that was because of an update, a crash, or...?

MDM

Re: expand corner...

I think everybody thought this thread was solved, since you already got help here with ToZ's suggestion of devilspie (I use the gui gdevilspie myself). In addition to the page he links to, there's lots of other suggestions to be found in a Web search on "xfce start maximized."
