[Solved] Whiskermenu <Super> key shortcut conflict

In "Window Manager" app I have the following settings:

  • "Maximize Window" <Super>Up

  • "Show Desktop": <Super>d

It worked fine. But when in "Keyboard" app I added:

  • "xfce4-popup-whiskermenu": Super_L (Win)

all aforementioned shortcuts stopped working, for example <Super>d open whiskermenu instead of showing desktop.
Does any workaround exists?
CentOS 7.1.1503, xfce 4.10
Thanks.

UPD: edited message because of wrong shortcuts

Re: [Solved] Whiskermenu <Super> key shortcut conflict

I think this is related to this open bug: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7845. However, in my case, both shortcut events are evoked.

As far as I know, you cannot have a Super-only keyboard shortcut if you have another Super shortcut.

Thank you. Looks like this is impossible.

Have you got the Menu key?  It's next to the  right side CTRL key.
I use that for the Whisker Menu shortcut as well as assigining my extra mouse button to the Menu key.

Re: [Solved] Whiskermenu <Super> key shortcut conflict

Executing again xfce4-popup-whiskermenu after the first command closes the menu immediately. As an associated command to Win+letter, put :

sh -c "xfce4-appfinder --collapsed && xfce4-popup-whiskermenu"

Re: [Solved] Whiskermenu <Super> key shortcut conflict

Old thread, but here's the solution:

https://github.com/hanschen/ksuperkey

When you press <Super> by itself, it sends <Alt>F1. But it still works as <Super> when used as a modifier.
