[SOLVED] Howto change font style for Window Buttons plugin (Manjaro)

Hi, I'm working with Manjaro XFCE version 17.1.0 with theme Adapta-Nokto-Eta..it works very well, except I would like to change font style for Windows Buttons plugin giving it a bold style and uniform the look with other plugins in my main panel bar (date/time, action buttons, weather update, etc).

I've tried to put in ~/.gtkrc-2.0 (that works in my other Linux Mint 18.3 system):

style "gtklabelbold"{
font_name="bold"}
widget "*Xfce*Panel*"    style "gtklabelbold"

but it doesn't works. How to make it possible?

Desktop image with some system details (see terminal window):

Thanks!

Re: [SOLVED] Howto change font style for Window Buttons plugin (Manjaro)

What version of xfce4-panel are you using?

If it is the gtk3 version, then you need the following in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css:

#tasklist-18 {
   font-weight: Bold;
{

...where "tasklist-18" is the actual name of the widget (which you can get by hovering over the item at Panel Preferences > Items tab).

Or:

.xfce4-panel {
   font-weight: Bold;
}

...if you want all GTK3 panel elements text bolded.

If it's the gtk2 version, then your code should work. Maybe post back the full content of your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file so that we can review.

Re: [SOLVED] Howto change font style for Window Buttons plugin (Manjaro)

I'm actually using xfce4-panel version 4.12.2.
As you suggested I've tried to create a new file gtk.css in ~/.config/gtk-3.0 with inside:

#tasklist-3 {
   font-weight: Bold;
{

but seems that it doesn't work..

in the rest of panel other plugins look so:

the content of ~/.gtkrc-2.0 is only that in the initial post:

style "gtklabelbold"{
font_name="bold"}
widget "*Xfce*Panel*"    style "gtklabelbold"

Furthermore, system default font used is Cantarell Bold.

what's wrong?

Adapta-Nokto-Eta is forcing a normal font weight there. Change the priority in your code:

style "gtklabelbold"{
font_name="bold"}
widget "*Xfce*Panel*"    style:highest "gtklabelbold"

...note the ":highest" keyword.
