screen is not activated if powered on, while PC is running

Using xubuntu 16.04, I turn on the PC when the display monitor (a Panasonic TV screen linked to the PC with HDMI) is powered off.
then I turn on the TV display, it does not show anything . In XUBUNTU, The display parameters show "Panasonic Industry standard not activated".
In command line I run xrandr it states HDMI-0 connected and the resolution is correct.

If the TV screen is powered on when I turn the computer on everything is working properly.

However since I need the screen in only 5% of the time I would like to be able to turn it on only when needed without having to restart the computer.
Any help is welcome!...

Yes this helps. Typing xrendr --auto does solve the problem. We will link it to a keyboard key and it runs. Thanks a lot.

Great! It'd be:

xrandr --auto

(just in case anyone copy/pastes)
