workspace switcher absent from list to add [Resolved]

i'm trying to do all the setup for user "pdh" on my computer, now that it is session styled (or whatever term is used) for Xubuntu.  when i do panel >> Panel >> left click:Add New Items... >> scroll, i cannot see workspace switcher.  when i type "workspace" into the search, it come up all blank.  it works fine for other users.

yes it is installed.

i rebooted and things now seem to be running OK.  the workspace switcher is there and now added to that panel.  and the screen shooter is working again.
