alphpa slider is MIA in panel->appearance

Hi
The latest xfce desktop panel object no longer includes the alpha slider to make the panel transparent. Is there some other means to make the panel base transparent I'm missing or is the xfce team done with this feature?

thanks for any response - Mike

Hello and welcome.

Have a look at this wiki entry. It's done differently in GTK3.

Thanks, ToZ. Mike is one of our developers and we have begun testing a first alpha build of MX-19.

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

When will MX-19 be released? Will it use a pre 4.14 build or will it be released ant the end of the summer and use the new 4.14 release?

Re: alphpa slider is MIA in panel->appearance

Our intention is to have the full 4.14 in place, and are using the pre build in this early alpha.  We are hoping for a release sometime in the middle Fall if both Debian Buster and 4.14 are released on schedule.

Re: alphpa slider is MIA in panel->appearance

Is this feature still missing or am I not looking in the correct location? I see the opacity setting, however I don't see an option to adjust transparency level of the panel background.

Re: alphpa slider is MIA in panel->appearance

In Xfce 4.14, the opacity slider is in the custom colour selector dialog. Select "Solid Color" then click on the color button. This will bring up the color selection dialog. Click "Custom (+)" and the slider is at the bottom.
